Sporting denim dr hook and the medicine show and buckskin, 1970s country-rock band Dr. Hook dr hook and the medicine show and the Medicine Show came to epitomize the era`s laidback, feel-good style. Though their material was sung in a Dixie drawl dr hook and the medicine show and three members were genuine Southerners, Dr. Hook started out as a New Jersey bar band chosen to provide musical accompaniment for whimsical cartoonist/composer/poet Shel Silverstein. Led by one-eyed vocalist Ray Sawyer dr hook and the medicine show and main songwriter Denis Locorriere, the band went on to score further success with their own humor-laced compositions. This concert film captures Dr. Hook dr hook and the medicine show and the Medicine Show at their creative peak, performing live renditions of classic songs like Sylvia`s Mother, Freakin` at the Freaker`s Ball, dr hook and the medicine show and The Cover of the Rolling Stone with all their trademark bawdiness intact.
